Culinary ProgramsCreative people require creative careers. The Art Institute of Phoenix can lead the way to these opportunities by providing art and design education. Programs focus on design - advertising, graphic, interior, and web design. Others concentrate on animation, multimedia, video, and culinary arts. These programs have been developed by The Art Institutes system of schools with an eye toward tomorrow's careers and combine almost five decades of educational experience.

Culinary Programs Offered:

Baking & Pastry Arts
In the Baking & Pastry Arts program, you’ll learn baking skills with an emphasis on fundamental pastry and bread-baking techniques. You’ll also study all-purpose baking, desserts, cake decoration, and pastry arts. To accentuate your culinary knowledge, you’ll learn critical thinking and work as a member of a team.

Culinary Arts*
In the Culinary Arts program, you’ll have an opportunity to gain practical experience in the kitchen while studying the business of cost control, sanitation and safety, menu and beverage management, nutrition, and kitchen management. You’ll have an opportunity to learn to produce food quickly and in quantity while working with others. Graduates are prepared to seek entry-level employment such as line cook and pantry cook (garde manger).

Culinary Management
How does a restaurant run? There’s the cuisine – but there’s also management to oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, dining room, and staff. The Culinary Arts & Restaurant Management program balances culinary theory and practice. Students learn cooking, baking, communications, and management skills. Graduates are prepared to seek entry-level employment such as prep cook, line cook, assistant food service manager, and assistant food and beverage manager.
